Smart Logistics and Supply Chain Management Program Experience SRTO and World-Class Operations at Laem Chabang Seaport

On September 1, 2025, students from the Smart Logistics and Supply Chain Management (SLSM) Program, batches 65, 66, and 67, together with the SLSM instructor team led by Dr. Monparath C., Chairperson, visited the Single Rail Transfer Operator (SRTO) at Laem Chabang Seaport.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Port Authority of Thailand (PAT) and the Public Relations team, led by Khun Wannapa Thongbangprong and Khun Pakin Unchoorit, for arranging this memorable learning experience.

The visit began with a guided orientation during the on-site journey, where students were briefed on the importance of SRTO in connecting multimodal transport systems. Upon arrival, the group was welcomed into the control center overlooking container operations, offering students a first-hand perspective on how technology supports efficient logistics management.

The highlight of the trip was a close-up tour of the container yard and port facilities. Students and instructors witnessed large-scale cargo handling and engaged in an active Q&A session with PAT experts. A group photo in front of the container cranes captured the spirit of the day and reflected the enthusiasm of all participants.

This field trip not only strengthened students’ practical understanding but also enriched the instructors’ insights into the operations of PAT, which proudly ranks as the 16th largest seaport in the world. The engaging sessions and site visits inspired students to connect theory with practice, making the experience both educational and memorable.
