On January 22, 2025. A group of 21 students from the Department of International Trade, School of Business, Chungnam National University, South Korea, recently completed a Capstone Design Project under the guidance of Professors Kim Tae Jung, Youngwoo Lee, Juil Lee, and Hyuksoo Cho. The project, titled “The Business Strategy of Korean Companies Advancing in Thailand,” featured an immersive field study in Thailand, focusing on the opportunities and challenges faced by Korean businesses in the Thai market.
As part of their research, the students visited several Korean companies operating in Thailand to gain firsthand insights into the local business environment. Their findings were presented through four key product themes: Korean instant noodles, healthcare products (such as vitamins and food supplements), Korean pizza, and Korean webtoons.
This collaborative exchange also provided Burapha University International College (BUUIC) students with a valuable opportunity to explore the Asian market and learn how Korean businesses analyse and approach the Thai market. The experience fostered a deeper understanding of the potential for Korean companies to expand and succeed in Thailand, while enriching academic knowledge and offering practical insights into international business strategies.
The project highlighted the importance of global collaboration in education and business. Both institutions are optimistic about strengthening their partnership and look forward to pursuing more innovative and collaborative projects in the future.
Special thanks are extended to the staff and team at BUUIC for their unwavering support, which was instrumental in ensuring the success of this programme.
