On November 27, 2025, fourth-year Global Business Communication and Modern Media students at Burapha University International College (BUUIC), alongside Assistant Prof. Waraporn Theerasak, hosted an impactful talk titled “The History of Beauty Standard” featuring renowned storyteller Faroh from The Common Thread. This initiative served as a vital mentoring scheme for female students (SDG 5.6.6) and provided an access scheme for professional growth through interaction with industry leaders (SDG 5.3.3). By deconstructing the history of societal expectations, the event reinforced a firm policy of non-discrimination against women (SDG 5.6.1) and challenged biases that often impact women’s confidence in the workplace. Furthermore, the project aimed to inspire and encourage female students to excel in media and global communication—fields where women’s leadership remains an area for growth (SDG 5.3.4). Through this academic-industry collaboration, students gained the critical insights needed to navigate and lead in a diverse global market. This event underscores BUUIC’s commitment to fostering a progressive environment where gender equality is at the forefront of education.
