The Language Center at Nakhon Sawan Rajabhat University (NSRU) invited A. Jimmy to teach a 3-hour course in Pattaya called “Speaking English for Business”. Ms. Chayanid, BUUIC Research Officer, assisted with course preparation as well as running the course.
All of the “students” were teachers, nurses, administrators, or managers. For about 30 minutes, Jimmy discussed how native English speakers usually talk. He also gave the students several tips to help them improve their speaking skills. The remainder of the course consisted of several 1-on-1 role-plays and one longer 3-on-3 negotiation role-play. The main goal of these role-plays was to provide the students with an opportunity to speak to each other using English.
