On September 13, 2025, a team of sustainability assessors conducted a data collection mission at the Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (DASTA) – Ko Chang and Connected Areas Office, No. 222, Moo 3, Tha Som Subdistrict, Khao Saming District, Trat Province. The purpose of the mission was to review selected improvements in line with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) criteria.
The assessment included meetings with executives and staff from the DASTA – Ko Chang Office, as well as a site visit to survey and verify empirical evidence within the tourist destination.
This initiative has been carried out with support from the Sustainable Tourism Management Knowledge Center (STMKC), which has provided funding to Burapha University International College (BUUIC) to conduct an assessment of the destination’s sustainability performance based on the Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria (GSTC) Version 2.0 for the fiscal year 2025.
