On September 4th, 2024, Ajarn Abhishek Tiwari led a group of BUUIC senior logistics students from his Seminar in Logistics and Supply Chain Management class on an educational visit to the Laem Chabang Port Customs Office. Ajarn Wichien Rueboon, an Instructor in Smart Logistics and Supply Chain Management, also joined the group. This visit aimed to provide students with practical, hands-on learning experiences related to real-world customs operations in logistics.
Upon their arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by Ms. Kannika and other staff members from the customs office. Ms. Juthathip Jaemsuwan, customs technical officer from the Customs Department, conducted an in-depth presentation on the department’s operations. She highlighted the use of advanced technologies such as X-ray screening and the Thai Customs Electronic System, both of which are essential for enhancing the efficiency and security of customs processes.
The visit also included a tour that explored the layout and functions of Laem Chabang Port and Siracha Harbour, emphasizing their critical roles in facilitating efficient customs operations.
This visit provided the students with valuable insights into the crucial role of technology and organization in effective logistics management, bridging the gap between classroom knowledge and real-world application.
