On May 27, 2026, Burapha University International College (BUUIC), in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture, successfully hosted a panel discussion on “Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for Primary Pesticide Packaging Waste” at the Pullman King Power Bangkok Hotel.
The event commenced with a warm welcome speech by Asst. Prof. Dr. Krittipat Pitchayadejanant, Dean of BUUIC, followed by opening remarks from Mr. Chaisak Rinkluen, Director of the Plant and Agricultural Material Control Office, Department of Agriculture.
Event Highlights:
📌 A keynote presentation on the “Direction of the Draft Sustainable Packaging Management Act and Policies” by Mr. Thaweechai Jiannaikajorn from the Pollution Control Department, emphasizing the national transition to a mandatory EPR ecosystem.
📌 An insightful panel discussion moderated by Dr. Sujitra Vassanadumrongdee from Chulalongkorn University. BUUIC’s Asst.Prof.Dr. Panate Manomaivibool shared international best practices, highlighting successful models like Germany’s PAMIRA and Brazil’s Campo Limpo. He was joined by distinguished panelists from the Department of Agriculture, Mr. Chaisak Rinkluen, and Dr. Watit Kaewwaennoi from the Thailand Institute of Packaging and Recycling Management for Sustainable Environment (TIPMSE).
BUUIC is immensely proud to lead the academic research for this project, preparing Thailand’s agricultural sector for the upcoming EPR law. We aim to promote proper packaging management ensuring a safe and sustainable circular loop for Thailand.
