Burapha University International College (BUUIC) recently advanced its international engagement through a strategic academic meeting with University of Akron, United States. The BUUIC delegation, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Parinya Nakpathom, Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relations, together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Krittipat Pitchayadejanant, Dean of BUUIC, held discussions with key representatives from the College of Business, including Prof. Terry Daugherty (Dean of CoB), Prof. Debmalya Mukherjee (Associate Dean of Academics, CoB), Prof. Mahesh Srinivasan (Director for the Institute for Global Business, CoB), and Prif. Eric Brisker (Finance Department Chair, CoB)
The delegation also paid a courtesy visit to Prof. Robert J. Nemer, President of Akron University to report and present the outcomes of the collaborative discussions between BUUIC and the College of Business.
The meeting resulted in several promising collaboration initiatives, including the development of programs in Logistics and Supply Chain Management and Operations Management, as well as MBA. Both institutions also discussed organizing study visits to leading companies such as Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.
In addition, BUUIC and the University of Akron agreed to promote student exchange program, allowing 1–2 students per year to participate in a one-semester exchange. The discussion reflects a shared commitment to enhancing global learning opportunities and strengthening international academic partnerships.
