On January 13, 2026, Burapha University International College (BUUIC) welcomed a high-level delegation from the Thailand Institute of Packaging and Recycling Management for Sustainable Environment (TIPMSE) under the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), led by Dr. Watit Kaewwaewnoi. The delegation was received by Assistant Professor Dr. Krittipat Pitchayadejanant, Dean of BUUIC, and Assistant Professor Dr. Panate Manomaivibool, Associate Dean for Academic Services and Sustainability Management. The visit marked the official launch of a strategic collaboration supporting Thailand’s preparation for the forthcoming Sustainable Packaging Management Act.
The collaboration focuses on developing a practical framework for Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), commissioned by TIPMSE to BUUIC, to guide private-sector producers in effective collaboration with Local Governmental Organizations (LGOs) nationwide. Scheduled from January to September 2026, the project aims to bridge policy and implementation by aligning industry practices with draft legislation, strengthening local waste management systems, and fostering cooperation between industry and government. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing a Thailand-specific and sustainable packaging management model for the future.
