On October 29, 2025, Dr. Wichien Rueboon and Mr. Abhisek Tiwari led 35 third-year students from BUUIC’s Procurement and Sourcing in Supply Chain (B.B.A., Logistics & Intelligent Supply Chain) course on an educational visit to Caterpillar (Thailand) Ltd. (Underground Mining) in Rayong. The visit was organized to connect classroom concepts in procurement, sourcing, and logistics/SCM with real-world practice.
Students were welcomed by the Caterpillar team (registration from 09:30 hrs), followed by an introduction to the company. The spotlight of the program was a session on Procurement Process by Mr. Ratchapoom Sakulthong, Manager Product Procurement (10:15–10:45), who outlined sourcing strategy, supplier collaboration, and cross-functional coordination in an underground mining context. After a PPE briefing, the group proceeded to Warehouse Management / Plant Tour led by Ms. Chutima Thapthim, Manager Logistics, highlighting inbound/outbound flows, inventory handling, safety discipline, and the interface between logistics operations and production. The session concluded with Q&A.
