On September 15, 2025, a team of sustainability assessors for the U Thong Ancient City conducted data collection for the review of selected improvements in line with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) criteria. The assessment included meetings with executives and staff from the Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (DASTA) – U Thong Ancient City, U Thong Subdistrict, Suphan Buri Province. The team also conducted a site visit to survey empirical evidence within the tourist attraction.
Burapha University International College (BUUIC) has received funding from the Sustainable Tourism Management Knowledge Center (STMKC) to carry out this assessment of the destination’s sustainability status based on the Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria (GSTC) Version 2.0 for the fiscal year 2025.
