The assessment aimed to review and evaluate BUUIC’s organizational performance across seven key areas of the EdPEx framework: Leadership, Strategy, Customers, Measurement, Analysis and Knowledge Management, Workforce, Operations, and Results.

This assessment represents an important milestone in BUUIC’s ongoing commitment to institutional excellence. It provides valuable opportunities to identify organizational strengths, explore areas for improvement, and enhance management processes through systematic evaluation and continuous improvement.

Through the EdPEx framework, BUUIC continues its journey toward becoming a high-performing educational institution recognized for quality, innovation, and excellence at the international level.

Throughout the three-day camp, participants engaged in a variety of interactive and hands-on activities designed to develop essential entrepreneurial skills. They learned to identify business opportunities from everyday surroundings, transform creative ideas into business concepts, collaborate effectively in teams, solve problems, and present their ideas through business pitching activities.

BUUIC continues its commitment to nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs by providing young learners with opportunities to develop creativity, entrepreneurial mindsets, and essential skills for the future.

International researchers and scholars explored emerging challenges and opportunities shaping the Halal economy through three key research themes:

Halal Governance, Islamic Finance and Literacy, strengthening ethical standards, financial inclusion, and consumer confidence.

Halal Applications, Consumer Markets and Institutional Development, exploring consumer behavior, Halal supply chains, emerging technologies, and sustainable business innovation.

Current Issues in Islamic and Halal Studies, addressing Islamic social finance, digital markets, Halal human capital, and evolving industry practices.

A strategic meeting between the management teams of BUUIC and UKM provided an opportunity to explore future academic cooperation, joint research, and institutional collaboration.

CONNECTING GLOBAL KNOWLEDGE WITH THAI CULTURAL HERITAGE

The conference also celebrated Thailand’s local wisdom through an interactive Thai Herbal Compress Ball Workshop, followed by cultural and community activities in Bangsaen, connecting international participants with Thai traditions, local identity, and community experiences.

The BUUIC management team met with the management team of the Faculty of Economics at UKM to explore potential collaboration in several key areas, including:

• Joint Research: Developing research projects in halal business and entrepreneurship through the Halal Business and Training Center.

• Student and Staff Mobility: Creating opportunities for student exchanges and staff mobility between the two institutions.

• Co-Teaching: Developing collaborative teaching activities to share expertise and enrich students’ learning experiences.

This meeting marks a promising step toward building a stronger academic partnership between BUUIC and UKM, opening up new opportunities for research, knowledge exchange, and international collaboration in halal business and entrepreneurship.

The conference featured welcoming remarks by Asst. Prof. Dr. Krittipat Pitchayadejanant, Dean of BUUIC, and opening remarks by Dato’ Jefridin bin Haji Atan, Chairman of The Legacy Association of Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

A major highlight was the Strategic Partnership Signing Ceremony between BUUIC and UKM, strengthening opportunities for international academic collaboration, research, and knowledge exchange.

The afternoon business training, “Halal Business Horizons: Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Global Market Opportunities,” provided participants with valuable insights into the vast Halal market and its emerging opportunities.

Led by experts from Malaysia, the training explored Halal market value, Muslim-friendly tourism and hospitality, SME opportunities, and Halal fintech, emphasizing how cultural values, religious beliefs, consumer trust, and lifestyle preferences shape purchasing decisions and global business strategies. At BUUIC, we connect international knowledge with real-world opportunities, preparing future entrepreneurs to compete in culturally diverse global markets.

During the visit, students observed automated storage systems, conveyor systems, robotic material handling, bottle labeling, automated bottle and carton packaging, robotic palletizing, and box-wrapping operations. They also learned about product transportation and distribution across Thailand.

The visit highlighted Ichitan’s sustainability initiatives, including recyclable packaging, lightweight bottles, and recycling practices, demonstrating the importance of sustainable packaging and environmentally responsible supply chain operations.

This experience helped students connect classroom knowledge with real-world industrial practices in material handling, packaging technology, automation, and sustainability.

The training team shared essential knowledge and practical guidance on intellectual property protection, responsible publication, and research commercialization. The programme aimed to strengthen BUUIC researchers’ understanding of how to safeguard research outputs, manage intellectual property strategically, and transform academic knowledge into practical applications and commercial opportunities.

The participation of the university’s research and innovation leaders, together with the expertise of the Section of Knowledge Management and Research Utilization, highlighted the importance of collaboration in strengthening BUUIC’s research ecosystem and advancing research with meaningful academic, societal, and economic impact.

The opening ceremony was welcomed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Jumphon Chuenjitsiri, Vice President for Legal and Academic Services, Prince of Songkla University and Chair of Thaiuniserv, and officially opened by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Watcharin Gasaluck, President of Burapha University, with Dr. Perapat Mungkung, Director of the Academic Service Centre, delivering the report, alongside Mr. Adisak Kiatkraiwalsiri, Chairman of the University Affairs Promotion Committee. The project brought together university administrators, Thaiuniserv members, local government representatives, and disability networks, including the Asia-Pacific Development and Training Center for Persons with Disabilities, Eastern Association of Persons with Disabilities, Samut Sakhon Association of Persons with Disabilities, Chon Buri Autism Life Skills Promotion Center, Central Deaf Association, Chon Buri Association for the Promotion of Quality of Life of the Blind, and Chon Buri School for the Deaf.

The initiative aims to promote an inclusive and equitable society, strengthen human capital and social protection systems, reduce social inequalities and gaps in support for vulnerable groups, and translate relevant knowledge and research into practical solutions that create shared value for society through USR.
